The rules that apply here

Effective 1 July 2025, amended IRPC 7.2(c) and 1.6 create the Intermediary Connecting Service (ICS) framework covering for-profit matching and lead-gen platforms. An ICS must not interfere with the lawyer's judgment or set fees, must not itself provide legal advice, must not be owned or controlled by participating lawyers, and the lawyer must disclose the relationship and any placement or ratings fees. The Illinois Supreme Court issues a sample ICS Certification Letter for self-certification.
